Former Head of St Philips appointed as Senior Circuit Judge.
His Honour Judge William Davis Q.C. former Head of St Philips Chambers until May 2008 has today been appointed the Senior Circuit Judge [ Resident Judge] at Birmingham Crown Court.
James Burbidge Q.C. who succeeded Bill Davis as Head of Chambers on his appointment to the Circuit Bench in 2008 said today: We at St Philips are extremely delighted at this news, that Bill Davis has been appointed to this Senior Judges job in the City. He was a founder member of St Philips Chambers in 1998 and one of the driving forces behind its establishment as the significant set it has become in the Midlands and countrywide. He served Chambers on many committees and in many capacities in that decade, always in a loyal and unstinting way for the benefit of all of Chambers and its staff, ultimately culminating in the election to the Headship of Chambers for 4 years. His assured administrative and legal skills will be of huge benefit to the criminal justice system in Birmingham. We congratulate him on his appointment.
