Chambers host successful mock Financial Dispute Resolution seminar on behalf of Resolution

Resolution

On Wednesday 16th September 2009 St Philips Chambers matrimonial finance team hosted and supplied a number of the ‘players’ for a mock Financial Dispute Resolution hearing on behalf of Resolution. The session provided some useful ‘do’s’ and don’t’s’ as to how to conduct a FDR hearing. District Judge Ingram kindly and hilariously played the Judge, Vanessa Meachin and Jonathan Nosworthy (both of St Philips Chambers) acted as the hapless barristers, Huw Jones and Liz McGrath (also both of St Philips) played the disagreeable clients, and Mary Kaye of Martineau Solicitors played a superb cameo role as a very vocal Irish intervener. Mark Mansell (St Philips’ Senior Family Clerk
) also made a guest appearance as the Usher. The performance clearly amused, entertained and informed an audience of 50 or so family lawyers from the West Midlands.

Zahra Pabani, Chairperson of Resolution in the West Midlands and Partner at Shakespeare Putsman LLP said as follows regarding the event: “St Philips Chambers were amazing - the feedback has been brilliant. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night and what an excellent turn out.”
