Our Criminal Group, consisting of sixty two juniors and eleven Queen's Counsel is the largest criminal team outside of London and the largest in the country under one roof. This allows us to provide both strength and depth along with the highest levels of advocacy. The Legal 500 describes us "as a leading set on the Midlands Circuit" and "home to a number of the region's leading criminal practitioners". We prosecute and defend in equal measure and our caseload includes murder, terrorism, corporate manslaughter, serious sexual offences, fraud and large scale drug conspiracies. Many of the Group are listed as preferred counsel by the Attorney General, the Crown Prosecution Service Special Casework and Organised Crime Divisions', the Serious Fraud Office and key national defence firms. The team is well represented in the judiciary with sixteen Recorders and two Deputy District Judges. We are committed to the profession and it's development and have representation on the Bar Council and the Criminal Bar Association, as well as being home to the Circuits' advocacy trainers.
