Robert Rhodes has specialised in many areas of practice over a long time, both in the UK and abroad, with a particular interest in mainland China, Hong Kong and the Middle East. He has rights of audience in the Dubai International Financial Centre and is a member of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the Corporate Panel of the Dispute Board Federation, of the London Court of International Arbitration and of the International Chamber of Commerce. He has been appointed Advisor of the Arbitration and ADR Center of the Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing. He holds a Diploma in International Arbitration, and is an accredited Mediator. He has been appointed to the Panel of Mediators of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). (CCPIT, founded in 1987, is the first and the largest professional mediation organisation in China. Its mediations involve commercial organisations from all over the world.) He has been approached to act as counsel in an international shipping arbitration. He has extensive experience of chairing disciplinary tribunals (eg IMRO and AIDB/AADB).
