St Philips CEO appointed as Chairman of the Birmingham Law Society Board of Directors
Chris Owen (who has been the Birmingham Law Society's Vice Chairman for the past 12 months) was appointed as Chairman at the Society's AGM yesterday evening. Commenting on his appointment Chris said "I am extremely humbled by the support of my colleagues in the Law Society and delighted to have been asked to be Chairman following in the footsteps of two luminaries of the local legal world namely Jon Lloyd and Bernard Shepherd. The purpose of the Board is to run the business side of the Law Society and I am lucky to have a great team of co-directors around me".
Kevin Hegarty QC, Head of Chambers at St Philips Chambers said "I have given my full support to Chris in his new role and Chambers is delighted to see him become the first non-lawyer to be appointed as a Chairman of any Law Society in the UK".
