Our Criminal Group, consisting of fifty juniors and nine Queen's Counsel is the largest criminal team outside of London and the largest in the country under one roof. This allows us to provide both strength and depth along with the highest levels of advocacy.
We prosecute and defend in equal measure and our caseload includes murder, terrorism, corporate manslaughter, serious sexual offences, fraud and large scale drug conspiracies. Many of the Group are listed as preferred counsel by the Attorney General, the Crown Prosecution Service Complex Casework Unit and Organised Crime Divisions, the Serious Fraud Office and key national defence firms. The team is well represented in the judiciary with fifteen Recorders of the Crown Court and two Deputy District Judges.
We are committed to the profession and its development and have representation on the Bar Council and the Criminal Bar Association, as well as being home to a significant number of advocacy trainers for the Midland Circuit and the Inns of Court.
