Crime & Regulatory are Ben's main areas of work. In Crime he is busy with serious cases including s18, rape, kidnapping, death by dangerous driving, and paper-heavy conspiracy cases. He also works in all kinds of regulatory-crime; in licensing (re: taxis, alcohol, gaming, animals); and in civil police cases.
Additionally, Ben practices in Personal Injury, with a particular interest in cases involving fraud or Health & Safety issues.
His reported cases include R v Brewster [2011] 1 WLR 601: the leading authority on non-defendant's bad character in Crime.
He has been led as a junior in a number of cases.
Ben studied at the University of Birmingham and Nottingham Law School, securing academic prizes and scholarships along the way.
