James joined St Philips in February 2016, and quickly got to grips with the role of a barrister’s clerk in the modern legal environment. He is now primarily responsible for clerking criminal matters heard in Warwick Crown Court, as well as those in Northampton, Nottingham, Leicester and local magistrate’s courts. This requires close co-operation with court listings officials, as well as regular interaction with solicitors and the Crown Prosecution Service to ensure the smooth running of the criminal diary.
James is also happy to assist with any direct-access based enquiries.
James is a member of the Institute of Barrister’s Clerks.
Away from the office, James enjoys playing golf at Robin Hood GC, and also has a keen interest in Ice Hockey and American Football. He enjoys travelling, particularly to spend time with family in America.
